What we handle

A pergola shows every millimetre of error, so most of the work is in the setup.

  • Full assembly including louver and canopy systems
  • Posts set plumb and the frame squared before anything is fixed down
  • Anchoring to deck, patio stone, concrete or a base we build
  • Louver mechanisms and any motorised parts tested end to end
  • Hardware torqued and checked, not left finger tight

Brands we install

We install whatever you bought, wherever you bought it.

Vita · Sojag · Yardistry · Backyard Discovery · Costco · Wayfair · Amazon

Level first, then anchor

The part most crews skip.

  • A slight slope on a patio or pad is normal and deliberate. It is how water runs off, and it is not a problem.
  • What matters is how far off it is. A pad that has settled, heaved over a winter or was poured badly can be out by enough to matter.
  • Set a structure straight onto that and it leans. You see it in the roof line, the posts and anything that hangs.
  • The load also stops sitting evenly across the posts, which over years is a safety issue rather than just a cosmetic one.
  • When the surface is out far enough to matter, we shim with stone or custom-cut wood blocks until the frame is true, then anchor it down.
  • Levelling work is only done when it is actually needed, and it is quoted separately if so. Most jobs do not need it.
  • We check before we build rather than after. That is the whole point.

Replacing an old one?

Plenty of these jobs start with something that has to come out first.

We take down old pergolas, dispose of the material and build the new one in its place, often on the same visit. Removal is quoted as its own service alongside the install, so you see the full price before anything starts. See removal and replacement.

Common questions

Aluminum or wood, which is less work?

Aluminum kits go up faster and need less maintenance. Wood takes longer and usually wants a level base underneath, but many people prefer the look.

Can you install a louvered pergola?

Yes. Louver systems need the frame properly square or the blades bind, which is the most common problem we get called to fix.

Do you attach pergolas to the house?

We can install both freestanding and attached pergolas. Attached installs depend on the wall construction, so tell us what it is when you ask for a quote.

What size do most people go for?

12x20 and 10x14 are the two we see most. Size affects crew and time, so send us the model and we will price it exactly.
